About

Parker Sisters Ranch is a place of refuge for young women aged thirteen to twenty, a place where they have an opportunity to find emotional healing from adverse childhood trauma that can lead young women to become at risk of unhealthy behavioral choices.

There is a natural bond that forms between a horse and a human. Horses are wonderful listeners that can be trusted with our deepest thoughts. Horses exhibit empathy, somehow understanding and responding to our emotions.

Our goal is to offer the young women tools for emotional and personal growth using Equine Assisted Activities. We will teach the young women basic horsemanship which includes safety, haltering, grooming, ground exercises, saddling and riding a horse. Each week the lesson is based upon our core values and will equip them with life skills. As the session advances, the young women will use their increased skills to participate in organized horse activities and games.

The Instructors and Volunteers are women who are understanding, strong and emotionally healthy. Each woman working with our students has a passion for what we do, and has been trained to come alongside of them, providing the support and leadership in the  young women’s lives.
